"Treat your attention with respect."

Thinking out loud to an audience.

I guess for me, I’ve never felt that the words I say are met with listening and eager ears. Part of that is my personally and delivery method. Both of which have been formed by the interactions I’ve had growing up and how I handled those interactions. I chose to become inward in my personality and quick in my delivery as to end the interaction out of a desire to avoid confrontation and self imposed humiliation. Out of this I’ve been able to reverse this trend and become more open as I’ve grown. Sadly though, I’ve noticed that the populous has gone the other way as the blind dependency on technology has engulfed the core of people and they have been driven inward. Not just in an antisocial way, but in there interactions as well. The “art” of interaction and conversation is being lost and the focus of the point of the interaction has been rerouted to self rather than the participants as a whole. Because of this, I’ve found myself, as I detach from popular social platforms, struggling to find people who are willing to participate in open ended interactions that benefit everyone involved. Facebook and the like have forced people’s creativity through a filter that is there platform. So people have followed the popular methods all in order to appease the algorithm. In this the thumb nails and flow of videos have become similar and have caused people’s minds to be limited to the structure of the algorithm. It is sad to me. It’s a race and it’s an unfair one because the rules continually change as the participants progress.
